Change the conversation

100 words dspConversations shape our future.  If you want to change the future, change the conversation.  What future do we want?  What conversations do we need?  Leaders cannot control the outcome, but can create the climate and opportunity for conversations.  Name the debate through powerful questions.1 Design the gathering.  Bring together people with diverse perspectives.  In the words of Juanita Brown and David Isaacs, this is “cultivating collective intelligence” through “conversational leadership.”2 Start now.  No permission necessary. No large budget needed; only courage and intentionality.  From the corridor to the boardroom, we can shape the future by focusing on conversations that matter.
